Alien Day is shaping up to be something fierce, and as if you weren’t already overwhelmed, here are some choice offerings from NYC’s Bottleneck Gallery. True to form, they’ve got some heavy hitters here, so you’re going to have some real tough choices come tomorrow.
Laurent Durieux has tackled LV-246 itself, depicting the moment we first learned about HR Giger’s fantastic beasts and got a tiny glimpse at their world. Mark Englert is back with another stunning landscape, this time taking us to the doomed Hadley’s Hope from Aliens. Lastly, Chris Skinner’s offering is a diorama-esque game of hide and seek featuring the nasty xenomorphs and Newt. I love the diversity here, and there’s a lot to digest within each piece.
Durieux’s poster goes on sale at a special sold out screening, with leftovers available online Wednesday, April 27th. Englert and Skinner’s pieces will be up at Bottleneck Gallery 12PM EST tomorrow, April 26th.
