Doctor Who is taking a break this year before Steven Moffat’s final season, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t a lot going on. The show just announced Capaldi’s latest companion, and the honor goes to actress Pearl Mackie. Though she’s an established theatre performer, I have to admit I’m not to knowledgable on her at the moment. I’m also kind of split on this announcement video, but there’s no denying that Mackie will be introducing a new kind of energy to the show, and that’s always a good thing.
