I only recently discovered Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, but it seems like it’s right up my alley, I mean, a cross between Mary Poppins and a dark X-Men? Count me in. It also looks that director Tim Burton is operating for the first time without most of his stalwarts – no Helena Bonham Carter, no Johnny Depp, and with a script from the ever consistent Jane Goldman. I’d love for Burton to return with a hit, it’s been a while since we’ve gotten something good from him, and at least on surface, this looks like a good fit, boasting an unarguable cast (Eva Green, Asa Butterfield, Samuel L. Jackson) and a collection of cutely endearing oddities.
Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children hits theatres September 30th.
